Click here to listen to Panama Soweto performing "Funeral" Panama Soweto was born in Manhattan, New York in 1976. His exposure to hip hop shaped his view of culture and art. His family moved to Denver in 1988 where he has resided since. He attended Clark University in Atlanta for a year and returned to Colorado to earn B.A.s in African American Studies and Fine Arts from Metropolitan State College of Denver. He was a member of the 2006 Denver Slam team that won the National Poetry Slam in Austin, Texas and is currently touring the country performing in colleges and universities throughout the United States. |
